Giving cybersecurity a friendlier face

I have designed for WebScannerPro since 2023, brought on by Cybertrends as the sole designer across every part of the product — from its identity to its interface.

WebScannerPro started life as a browser extension for Chrome (now on Edge and Firefox too), and has since grown into a complete cyber-protection service: real-time defence against malware, scams and phishing, dark web monitoring, and insurance-backed cover for identity theft, online fraud, cyber extortion and cyberbullying. My role has been to take something inherently complex - cybersecurity - and make it feel clear, human and reassuring.

The work has spanned the full picture: refreshing the WebScannerPro logotype and building the brand guidelines; designing and building the marketing website end to end (Interface design and front-end HTML, CSS and JavaScript); creating the extension's interface and its Chrome Web Store presence; and producing illustration for sub-brands including SafeSearch and WebScannerPro Premium. Most recently I designed the identity for Halo, WebScannerPro's own Chromium browser - icon, logotype and marque, across everything from the desktop dock to Apple Watch.
