A lead illustration for an article marking the death of Ann Widdecombe — the Conservative-turned-Brexit Party politician who reinvented herself, improbably, as a national curiosity on Strictly Come Dancing. The piece had to hold both halves of that life at once: the rosettes and the ballroom, the political operator and the pantomime turn. A bold editorial collage does the work — halftone cut-outs layered over a textured red field, her paso-doble flounce set against the campaign map and the machinery of the parties she passed through, with the blunt headline question anchoring the whole thing.

Warwicka art-directed and built the illustration end to end: sourcing and treating the imagery, cutting and compositing the collage, and setting the type into a single bold, print-feeling editorial image sized for the article and its social cards.
