Nellcôte, 1971 is a self-initiated piece built from Dominique Tarlé's photographs of the Rolling Stones. In the summer of 1971 the band decamped to a belle-époque villa on the Côte d'Azur as tax exiles and recorded Exile on Main St. in its basement, and Tarlé — the only photographer to live with them that summer — shot the definitive record of it.

Animating Tarle's frames into a fast, layered collage: photographs, Polaroids, magazine covers, handwritten tracklists and album ephemera stacked across multiple tracks, colour crashing into black-and-white, everything cut and bouncing in time with the music. The original stills were extended and filled out with Midjourney, and the film runs to an original voiceover and score.
